Menus on tv? (can anyone confirm one way or another)?

I'm pretty sure we saw Steve outputting now playing, menus, cover art onto that keynote. he seemed to mistakenly select the wrong cover flow album, it could have all been staged... but are we sure? He distinctly told us that he was showing us the menus and then used a video out thru the dock cable of some kind.

Is it possible that apple's dock video out cable will now show menus and "now playing " information?? I really want to get this info onto the navigation system in my car's tv input jacks. Also all docks with built in menus that display on tv suck. cover art is smaller than it is on the actual ipod.

He was connected, yes, and the keynote video was indeed coming directly off the ipod...
And yes, he was connected through the dock port...
My bet is he was running a special version of iPod software that they tweaked to export all the displayed video through the dock.
That said, since the new video cables are dock conenctors, it's a possibility. That'd be awesome.

That said...
I didn't see anything in the iPod Classic manual about menus being displayed.
