Not likely. If Apple was going to do that then they would have already released the update (like they did with the 5G iPods whenever the 5.5G was released). The iPod classic probably uses newer hardware that runs faster and more efficient that the 5G/5.5G iPods so getting a new GUI for the firmware is out of the question.
