I have a 5G 60 gig Video iPod about 1.5 yrs old.

At first, I thought that I had a dead pixel on my screen. While off, my screen shows no scratches, as I have kept it in immaculate shape. However, while playing it, an increasingly growing set of lines has permeated my screen. It's only getting worse.

Apple seems to think that I have a cracked screen but, again, while off, the screen has no marks.

Anyone come across this? Perhaps I just burned out my screen after "so much" use? I rarely watch videos and have the light setting to 10 sec.

Of course, out of warranty, I have to eat the cost of the repair myself or buy a new one.

Any idea on cost or repair options?
