Nano 3G and iFrogz treadz Case
I just received my Treadz case from iFrogz (they also make a more mainstream case, check the site). The Treadz case is black (On a black 8GB) and has a cool tire tread impression and really fit well. It is thick and seems as it will protect well , and the click wheel and screen are recessed a good bit (no screen or click protection over them, but I like it this way). Even though the headphone jack looks small my Shure plug goes in fine. Also dock cable good, but it doesn't fit in the docking cut-out for the nano. The one negative would be that if you use the hold switch, and you thought it was hard to hit before, this case will not make it any better. It is down in there and harder to use than before.
Overall for the price and early intro I would say 9/10. Sorry no pics, but the website has good ones...K

I looked at those and then decided against it for that very reason - looked like the hold switch was hard to access. They are very cool looking, but I picked up a Marware Sportgrip for $9.99 instead, which has completely open access on the bottom to the ports and hold button. That might put some people off, but I like it. Pretty complete package. Came with decent screen and clickwheel protectors (although the center piece for the clickwheel wouldn't stay in place). Fits very snugly and appears to give just the right amount of protection without being overly thick. Nothing's perfect, but for the price this is pretty close IMO.

I'm currently deciding getting an iFrogz nano case, marware sportgrip or a speck products toughskin.
I can't decide between the three. The Speck is very expensive including shipping, but I've heard some good things about Speck. I really like the iFrogz, but am a bit worried about whether my aftermarket headphones like the Shures will plug in properly since they have pretty big 3.5mm male plugs. Its exactly why I'm purchasing a silicone skin to supplement my Switcheasy Biscuit. The fact that I can customize it is attractive.
I haven't had much experience with Marware, so I can't say much. It is the cheapest one here, but doesn't differ (pricewise) too much from the iFrogz.
Can anyone give me some advice?

I'm on my fourth Marware case for different iPods, and I have been pleased with every one of them. I bought a Speck silicone case once for my 4G iPod, and didn't even keep it on a week before purchasing a different case. I thought it was very cheaply made and flimsy, but that's just my opinion and they may have improved since then. I've never tried any of iFrogz cases, but I've been tempted. The thing that kept me away from them this time is the same thing that is causing you to doubt them - the small opening for the headphone jack.

The thing is, in the iLounge review, they said that all their test headphones fitted, but what are their test headphones? I'm assuming they have E500s, but I want to be double sure so I don't waste money ordering something from the US, waiting weeks for it than find out on arrival that it doesn't work.
The marware case is tempting due to its low cost, but I really like the style of the ifrogz.

I have the Treadz case and I use it w/ my Shure E3c plug and it seems OK. I just make sure it is in all the way to begin with , and no problems. It appears that the silcone compresses under the plug enough to get a tight fit, who knows over time...K
