ShieldZone Invisible Shield for Classic 160 GB

I just bought the invisible shield today at a retail store (CryWolf) in San Diego and 7 hours into the install, I must say I'm thoroughly impressed.

See below for pictures... (can we not post pictures on this forum?)

By the way, BSE just announced that their shield is also available for the new classics.

Oh well. Too late.

the looks have improved.
there are now only two very small bubbles- i think these are here to stay, however.

Some criticisms:
1. the fits aren't very exact for the back piece. there is small part exposed on the sides.
2. the screen is slightly indented, and so application has to be done carefully so as not to create any bubbles. but mine seemed to fit without any obvious bubbles created by the indention.

wow does it really take that long to put that thing on? also does it protect the top and bottom around the headphone jack and dock connector? thats where my last ipos always got scratched up on the silver part. ive just been using seran wrap here lately

It doesn't circumscribe it perfectly and leaves out small portions around both parts.
Nevertheless, I can't imagine why even an excruciatingly fastidious person would quibble about such a minor nuisance.

GREAT thread and pics...been waiting for exactly this info, thanks

One question: Have you used a skin like this on an older gen iPod (without a set back screen) and is there any difference, or are they pretty much the same exact thing? I have a spare IS for a 80GB...I'm wondering if I really need to get the new version for the face...

thanks again, A+ thread so far

I bet even those are gone now...arent they...? ;)

I must say... these guys (both IS and BSE) make a great product...

Nice job, and what does BSE stand for? I just love these acronyms that people like to make up so other people feel helpless and sorrowful (Yah, that'd be me)

One thing I don't like about the inivisible shield is that you can't take it off without bad things happening, but oh well, it's totally awesome. Have you tried the key test yet? Oh yeah.....

BSE = Best Skin Ever (Exact same thing as Invisi Sheild, just MUCH cheaper)

What do you mean cant take it off without bad things happening? That's not true.

Hey, in response to the"bad things happening" quote, I am just meaning that if I was to take off the invisible shield from my iPod it would look really bad to put back on, with spots and such. I believe the company might offer one replacement for wrong installation however. The long and short of it is, it's an awesome "case" and I love it on my iPod, but just get it on there right and leave it, since you can't re-apply it. It doesn't, hurt your iPod unless installed wrong, leaving residue, but it just can't be re-applied.

Ahh okay, I thought you meant bad things happening to the ipod itself..

yes these types of skins are indeed "one time applications" meaning you have to get it right in the first 20 minutes or you're screwed in trying to remove it. The real key is to get it wet enough so it will slide right into place, and then holding down the sides/corners to adhere nicely.

I've applied 2 of these and bubbles have never been an issue, the only thing was that the first BSE I applied was for a 60GB 5.5G....and I put it on my 160GB... it was just very slightly big on the sides and I am quite neurotic when it comes to this stuff, so when I saw they were also offering a new cut for the classic I sprung for that and it fits precisely now.

Again...I can not say enough about these products. They should be sold in the apple store, at the very least. You can keep an iPod (casing) brand new for 10 years with one of these.
