wow! 3rd gen nano cases already selling!
I just got an email today, and apparently, Incipio already has cases for the new nano w/ video for sale.
Well it is on pre-order, but I guess some one is already ahead of the game!

I bet lots of companies signed NDAs to get advanced specs to make accessories.

Have they ever before? Apple has never been good in helping out 3rd party case makers early because they enjoy being so secretive. (The iPhone had cases right away because it was pre-announced).
When I bought the 1G Nano and iPod Video then I had to wait about a month before places like contour and Agent18 started making shells.

Well I don't think giving 3rd party developers the size specs would hurt anything.

I emailed customer service at Belkin, DLO and Speck Products and they all say the cases for the 3G nano won't ship until at least the end of September 2007. I'm hoping for a 3G nano version of DLO's Hybrid Shell protective case. :)

According to an e-mail I recieved yesterday, my flip case (leather) from Incipio shipped and should arrive soon...K

Cool. I really like the idea of the "kickstand" case they have, but I wonder if the headset port would still be accessible.

www.ifrogz.com has a pretty decent concept case soon to be released on their site and they make great cases. www.bestskinsever.com replied to my e-mail saying their skins will be shipping in the next couple of days. Their skins really are the very best for protecting that high-maintanance chrome back: I have them on my 1st gen nano and 5th gen video and they are indestructable. Griffin has an interesting mirror case coming out, but it sounds like you won't be able to see the color of your nano thru it.

I currently have my new red nano in a tiny zip-lock bag with a bit of fabric to protect the back from any scratches. The click-wheel works w/o a problem thru the plastic. The Altoids box works too, with foam tacked to the top and bottom to prevent shifting. A cassette case may work as well, with foam to keep the thing from sliding around. I'm going to wait for the e-mails to arrive from the already mentioned companies that their cases have arrived and pick from them instead of settling for the first one out the gate.
