iHome quality?
i picked up a 3rd gen nano not that long ago, and i've been looking for a decent iPod alarm clock to replace my old timex clock that one day started smoking and leaking fluids out the bottom (i am not kidding, it really did happen). the iHome looks really good for me, but i read some bad reviews on it from people saying that the clock stopped working, it had poor radio reception, it stopped picking up a radio signal, and even that the dock piece for the iPod broke off. does anybody else on here have an iHome who can comment on the quality of it. the longer you've had it, the better, because i'm hoping to have it for at least 2 years. i really don't want to waste 99 bucks on something that's going to break after 6 months. your feedback is greatly appreciated :)
# 1 Re: iHome quality?
I recently purchased an iHome IIH8. Great sound quality, fairly intuitive controls, and seems solidly made. The only reason I'm taking it back is because of the brightness of the backlit (orange) buttons on top of the unit; unlike the backlit LCD (which can be adjusted through a wide brightness range, including, most-importantly, OFF), the backlighting for the buttons remain on 24/7, which drives my significant other crazy (she desires a pitch-black bedroom when sleeping, and I can't really blame her). If you can live with that issue, I'd say you can't go wrong with it.
