Alternatives to Bose SoundDock Portable?

I was never a big Bose fan... I think their stuff is overpriced and their speakers are a bit on the bassy side for me.

I've found several alternatives but the ones I've looked at have a battery option which I don't care about. I don't want to spend extra for that.

I have a new classic. Thanks.

Edit to add what I want it for: Occasional travel (by plane) and to listen to at work. I want something semi-portable (batteries not necessary) and great sound. The SI T24 seems to come the closest to my needs, but seems a tad on the big side.

I like my Logitech mm50 for traveling. It is compact, it fits in my laptop bag, has an audio input jack I can connect my laptop to. It also has built in re-chargeable batteries and is reasonably good sounding for it's size.

I narrowed it down to the mm50 or the Altec Lansing IM600. Price seems to be about the same at a cheap $75 or less. I was unaware that JBL came out with a Stage III. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a comprehensive review on them. The reviews on this site and in general are top notch but nothing yet on the Stage III (except an announcement). I also don' think it's available yet. I really liked what I read about the IM600 though I couldn't care less about the radio... from a purely audio standpoint though, the IM600 seems to be the stronger of the 2.

If you had to choose, which one... Stage III, IM600 or mm50?

I own both the mm50 and the IM600. I think I like the sound of the IM600 better.

Has anyone found out the anything about the compatibility of the im600 and the new ipods? Every store gives conflicting information. The gist is it "may" be compatible, but because the dock adapter hasn't been released yet they are marking it incompatible.

Anyone?
