I'm looking for a small footprint iPod alarm clock.

It seems like the options so far are:
Philips AJ300D
Cons: no AM, limited dimmer options, and may have volume issues with the iPod alarm (coming on at top volume)
Pros: best sound, medium pricepoint

Timex Ti700
Cons: I'm wondering if the iPod is prone to getting knocked out with this design, given there's nothing behind it, highest pricepoint. Insides made by same folks as iHome, and my iH5 is having issues only a little over a year after I bought it.
Pros: Seems to do everything I want and have no major flaws in the design

iH4
Cons: May be too bright once again. Only one alarm iirc. Again, made by the iHome folks, and my iH5 started having issues too soon for something that expensive.
Pros: By far the lowest pricepoint of the three.

Anyone have thoughts to add to this?

The Philips AJ300D seems like the best choice, except for the volume issues. Anyone aware of a fix for the volume issues? For instance, setting the volume on the iPod itself to be very low.
