songs are accesable in my comp fromthe ipod?
ok so i was jsut messing around with win options and under the control pannel>apearence and themes>folder options>clcik the view tab>(a bit down the list of things) clickshow hidden folders>then under my computer>iPod>iPod control>music>f00
there i was able to find my music...not sure about the order
then i copied one to my usb drive took it to a different comp and then played it (played in winamp when i dbl clicked for some reason but i can tell it to play in itunes im sure
so does this mean i dont need itunes to add music to the ipod and i can also copy it to a hdd with out a program like anapod or ipod agent?
is this somehting that has been known for a while an im jsut slow or is it not even worth it
i dont have any new music to do this with but could i go to a friends and take his music library drag it to that folder in the ipod and then be able to listen to it with out having to take the file to itunes and sync it?

No: when you add songs to the iPod in iTunes, iTunes updates the database on the iPod so that the iPod software *knows* it is on there. If you just stick it on the harddrive the iPod won't know it is there.

I think so, but I'm not 100% sure. The problem would be locating the music, as it's not located in easily navigatable folders, as you've seen yourself its spread across those F-- folders. So possible, but difficult.

well ok i guess it wasnt as big a discovery as i was hoping but i guess if someone wants some of my music and they care to take the time and find it in the 19 f folders that my 40gb has they can..then they dont need to dl anapod or another prog...

I reckon I use iTunes 1st, then Anapod, then last resort I use sharepod (Free). I wouldnt go messing with the innards for fear of losing it all.
