Sleeving new PSU

Well a friend of mine gave me a new PSU for my birthday! Big thanks goes out to her :party"

Click here (http://mysite.verizon.net/~vze7h5i5/pub/Rig/psu1.JPG) to view a picture of the new PSU

Now I'm also in the process of buying a new case...so I won't use the PSU until I get my new case...

but until then...I think I should start sleeving this bad boy!

Click here (http://mysite.verizon.net/~vze7h5i5/pub/Rig/sleeving.JPG) to view the sleeving that I will use.

I should have plenty left over to sleeve fan, ccfl, case, switches, and other various cables. Or whatever else I feel needs to be sleeved ;)

I'll post updated pics soon!

Power Supply for your computer. You plug the power cable into this, and then you plug the cables from thet power supply to your mobo, hard, floppy, and optical drives

Actually it's an Aspire 500W power supply.

Also, I finished sleeving it over the weekend :)

I'll bust out my black light later and take some pics of it all lit up and UV'ified (I think I just made that word up).

But for now...check out the PSU in it's new sleeving :)

The PSU situation has got out of hand recently, it used to be Enermax or a yum-cha, now every man and his dog has a different model.

Oh, btw, the links are not working.

What did you sleeve it with? I want to do mine in some sort of funky UV reactive mesh, although I've seen some really cool mods where people have used flexible metal pipes with sleeving, the effect that it had was amazing.

The links should be working now...I used Flexo PET sleeving :)

Alright I got a couple pics of this thing lit up!

Right now I'll just post two pictures of the whole power supply lit up, and later on I'll post close up pictures of the sleeving/molex connectors!

Enjoy :)

Hmm I tried it from two computers here at work and everything seems to be good.

All your links worked for me. It looked great w/ the black light. Do you know what kind of case you are going to use it on?

Its probably some aussie-specific problem. Thats ok, I'm used to us sucking...:)

haha Sorry to hear you're still having problems with that Adam, I can link ya to another forum where I posted it at, the pics are actually uploaded in the forum.

pt4117 - Everyone's bugging me to do an all acrylic case :P They are neat, but I dont' think it's my style. Biggest problem with those cases are the dust, and the fact that the lighting will not controlled; it will jsut go everywhere!

I really want to get my hands on one of those cube cases, those things are hot! Only downfall with that is the price, they usually start at $150 w/o windows.

I think I'm gonna go for a Super Flower, TTGI, or Kingwin case with two side windows and the top window.

Oh, speaking of modding, this is my old PC:

Now I have a slightly modded Antec Lanboy. My next big purchase probably in a couple of years will be a totally custom made overclocked fanless beast. It will be chilled watercooling, and no fans in sight, stay tuned :)

Edit - Here's a crappy low res pic of my current computer turned off, it looks quite boring but does the job. The speakers are the ##### here.

Nice old rig there man, I'm diggin the handles :) What did u end up doing with your old rig? Just get rid of it?

Have you seen the new Antec Super Lanboy? That thing is sexy, but has the same smaller form factor like your lanboy.

I might take a look into watercooling later this year too, we'll see what happens :)

I don't like the 120mm fan need, even at low speeds they move so much air they are just noisy.

With my old rig, I gave it my friend for $20, which is like $US10, nothing much, I just needed a change.

I'd tell you the details about the design I'm thinking about, but I'm fairly sure that its going to be a world exlusive thing, I have not seen anything like this ever before.
