Bought online - will Apple Store replace?
I bought my iPod (40GB) around January at Buy.com.
I now have a very strange problem, of which I still don't know how it happened. It seems that at the right side of the iPod, where the white top and the metallic bottom go together, there is a small gap now, it seems the tops has "shifted" to the left, and thus opened the right side a little. You can actually see and feel it (only on the right side of it, the rest feels like always - very smooth) and I'm kind of worried that it might have an impact.
I only use my iPod for jogging and when I'm walking longer distances. For both, I use the beltclip that comes with the iPod, for jogging I hold it in my hand. The iPod has never fallen down, or had any other accidents - so this should fall under the Apple warranty, right?
My question was, since I think shipping is a pain in the butt, if I could just go to an Apple Store and ask them for a replacement. However, since I bought it at buy.com, I don't know if they would help me out there.
A minor problem, which a encountered as well, is the fact that at the point where the two cords from the earbuds come together, one of the cords seemed to have loosened itself from the connecting-point, so that you can see the two cables that are in the white coating. I assume, this happened while jogging, although I don't think this speaks for a good product-quality. Does that fall under warranty, too?
Thanks in advance for any helpful responses,
Obi
