Service Request on Hold
I recently returned my iPod for repair and have been waiting now 12 days of the 14 days they claim to do it in but whenever i check the website it always says 'Service Request on Hold'? It shows that they despatched the orignal box and that they have now recieved the unit i mailed to them but has not changed since then (4 days). Does this mean there is a problem or does it always show that? Did I ought to give Apple a call to see what is going on? Any advice is welcome. Quickly. Thankyou please.

# 1 Re: Service Request on Hold
i have been waiting 18 days since they confirmed i need a new 3g 10gb unit.
They refuse point blank to send me a 15gb!
Your guess is as good as mine

surely your entitled to a PRICE equivilent, as in, you get what is available on the market now as opposed to them sending you an old refurbished one that will now be worth less than what you payed for...im sure thats some sortof law/regulation, however cannot be sure as iv never done it. i know my friend always breaks his minidisc player on purpose to get the lastest model (and extended warantee, so it might differ)

Does anyone know if upgrading from a 30GB to 40GB is an option? I wouldn't even mind paying a small amount as a upgrade cost if it means I will get my ipod back in the near future.

I would be wary of only communicating with Apple through the web tracking system.
I requested an iPod repair online and was quite suprised when I still hadn't had a box a week later as all my other dealings with AppleCare have been very positive. I called them and they said they'd had problems with their system and the repair request had been cancelled. They reinstated it and the box was delivered the next day.
In short, don't believe everything you read on the web!
