iTrip - only with MMJ and iTunes?
Got the iTrip with the hope of using it on an upcoming road trip. However, since I'm on Windows ME, iTunes can't be used. MMJ 8.2 seems to be causing havoc as every time I try to install the iPod plug-in for it, it craps out completely.
So, my question is whether iTrip really does require either app to be installed? The obvious hint that it does is the fact that it stops the install of the iTrip files when it doesn't detect either app locally. Is there a workaround? So far, I've been using the WinAmp solution for loading tunes and it seems to be just fine for that - is there a workaround for WinAmp that I can use for installing the iTrip files?

No way.
All you need to do is load the .mp3 files that Griffin gave you onto your iPod. (They're on the CD, or they can be downloaded seperately)
How they get there is totally irrelevant.

Also, you don't even need to load those mp3 files if you don't mind using just the default FM frequency of 87.9. You only need those mp3 files if you want to change frequency that iTrip broadcast at. Or if you want to turn off the LED light.
