Media Reader for 2nd Gen iPod

I know that Belkin's Media Reader is only for the 3rd Gen iPods, but is there any other device that would allow me to transfer photos from media cards to my 2nd Gen iPod? If not, can anyone please explain why that can't be done?

There is no such device.

Essentially, it's because Apple would have to write the software for it (i.e. the 2.1 Firmware for 3G iPods). They haven't, and most certainly won't. They've got 3G's to sell. :D
