Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but iTunes doesn't have to be registered. In order to burn a CD, you simply need to insert a blank CD-R into your drive. The Burn option should become available then.

Your CD burner may may not be recognized by iTunes and thats why you don't see it. I had this problem until iTunes 4.2. It now recognizes my DVD player/CD burner on my desktop. I had to transfer the songs to my laptop to burn my AAC tracks purchased from iTMS before.
If you don't see your burner listed under CE Burner at Edit>Preferences>Burning tab then that's your problem. It is not a recognized burner.

The original question from Sunstar667 was why iTunes doesn't show up as a choice on the web page that you see when you choose "Register iTunes" from the Help menu of iTunes. I have the same question.
Kloh's reply says that it's not necessary to register iTunes, but are there any benefits to registering it? I'm thinking that Apple must have put that command under the Help menu for a reason. (The main benefit I'm interested in is support.)
