Do you use the dock?

I have never used the dock. Is that bad? :o

Call me lazy, but at night when I return home, my iPod wants to slip into something more comfortable. The dock suits perfectly (the iPod makes that purring noise when inserted) for that occasion.

I'm just not bothered with fooling around with the cable and so I leave it attached to the dock.

I went ahead and voted yes. I use to use the given dock all the time. It set on a speaker inbetween my stereo and the desk where my computer was this way I could have aux cable going from the dock to the speaker and I could connect the fire wire cable to the AC adapter easily it also was easy to unplug from the adapter and plug into my laptop for transfers when needed. I purchased an extra cable to carry with me on the go.

No however my iPod has found a new home sitting in the altec lansing inMotion speakers. It is happy there charging and sitting nicely.

The advantage of the docking situations is just presentation and ease if you have it set up to be plugged in all the time then it's just a matter of sitting the iPod in. I like the one users explination "purring noise" Ha!

The dock is great.

I don't use the dock because I can't be bothered taking my Pod out of the EXXO2 case, its a shame it doesn't fit the Pod in the case!

Nope, don't use it. Have it, and love it, but don't use it cos indiepod rests snugly a waterfield case all the time. ;)

Do you have the belkin firewire+usb cable? Because then you should be able to plug it in just like you would with firewire.

My boyfriend uses it when he hooks it up to our home stereo because it holds it upright and you can see what's playing. On my computer when we're syncing we don't or when we charge it. So 'both'.

All the time...everynight it charges it's in the dock.

I use the dock at home when I play the iPod through my home stereo system. The little iPod looks kind cool out of its case and sitting on the dock while playing some rockin tunes quite loudly. Non podders can't fathom that so much music can come out of the little white box. hehe

And I wound up modifying the dock, as I was tired of taking my iPod out of the xtrememac case all the time. I removed the top, as well as the metal counterweight, and now the connector is long enough to reach into the case.

I have a dock at home and use it all the time. however, at work i do not have a dock and my ipod is usualy laying flat on my desk. and this is safer. there are too many nurf balls flying around :D

I use my dock all the time. I keep mine hooked up to my desktop computer because I have the inMotion speakers in my bedroom to use and it charges the iPod also.

I use it all day everyday. It's plugged into my stereo so i never have to get up and change CDs anymore! WOO!

I bought a blue iSkin, then realised the pod wont fit in the dock with the skin attached, so i never use the skin - only the nice black case that came with it. Keeps the buttons and jogwheel safe while the remote does everything else!

I had bought those cool acrylic stands for my 2G iPod, so I felt no need to spend the extra money on the dock for my 3G. :o

I just flip my iPod upside down on a stand and plug it in. :) :cool:

Nope. Don't wanna spend the money on one. I don't really think I'd use it anyways.
