Help! iPod Continuously Restarts!
I just disconnected my 3G 20G iPod from XP (using the XP Safely Remove Hardware Option) and now my iPod continuously restarts! It shows the Apple symbol for a few seconds, blinks, then shows it again. All I did was add a vCard to my contacts! I've tried to restart the iPod using the Hold+Play+Menu method but the problem persists.

This hapenned to me, after playing with EphPod. It wont get detected by iTunes or computer either, unless you do this. This is a known iPod "bug" and to fix it quickly, here's a solution :
First of all, you can't get your computer to recognise your iPod, I think (coz i couldn't) so you need to FORCE disk mode so computer recognises iPod.
To do this, reset your iPod, and upon resetting, hold down the following buttons:
Previous+Next
iPod should go to "Do Not Disconnect" screen, and should be recognised by computer as a drive at least, if not as normal iPod.
Now, run the software udpater, and run a Restore. The Restore took a LONG time for me, and it was the last stage that took a lot longer than expected (Total less than 30 minutes i think)...
Hope this fixes your problems. Ask any questions you have...
Just in case, I confused you with Disk Mode thing, here's a proper article:
Here's the article on Apple's site:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
Putting iPod into Disk Mode
1. Plug the iPod Power Adapter into an electrical outlet and connect iPod to the power adapter.
2. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
3. Press and hold the Play/Pause and Menu buttons until the Apple/iPod logo appears. This resets iPod. When you reset iPod all your music and data files are saved, but some customized settings may be lost.
4. When the Apple logo appears, immediately press and hold the Previous and Next buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears. (For iPod Software 1.0 through 1.1, a FireWire logo appears on the screen.)
5. Disconnect iPod from the power adapter and connect it to your computer.
A search woulda found this post I made earlier :P
