Problem with the headphone jack

Well, headphones work fine, but I can't use the remote or an iTrip, which tells me that I need to have the unit serviced. I used PDASmart in the past to fix the iPod and it worked great, but they want a minimum of $75.00 to fix the jack, which is odd, because they gave me a new scroll wheel assembly for only $50 installed....

But anyway... Where else can I get this thing fixed. I am hoping somone out there can fix it for less than $75.00. $75.00 seems a bit high for some solder.
