I want new iPod - Yes or No?
I'd like to buy a new iPod and sell my 1st Gen 10G for around $100.
1. Should I wait until MacWorld New York for a possibe announcement on a new iPod? Do they usually announce music products at the NY one or the SF one?
2. I've heard rumors of bad sound quality with the new iPods for some unknown reason. What's the scoop?

1) iPod products/updates have typically been announced at separate "music events." The 1-year anniversary of the iTunes Music Store and the 3rd Generation iPods is coming up on April 28th... So I'd expect at least a "Music Event" VERY soon-- Steve has to announce iTunes milestones (did we reach 100 Million in the first year? How'd the Pepsi promotion go? What amazing online market share have we commanded in year 1?)
There is NO telling, however, whether we'll see new iPods then.

1. I wouldn't expect a new iPod - they've only just recently started shipping
the iPod mini and it won't be available overseas till July.
I was actually waiting for an iPod mini, but decided to bite the bullet and
just get the 3G model when Apple pushed back the overseas release date.
I'm glad that I did. The 3G model is much better than my 2G model (which was
stolen :-( ) in terms of size, weight and features. I was worried that I'd regret not
having waited for the even smaller and lighter mini, but the 3G is spot on and
I don't have any regrets at all.
2. No sound problems with the 3G model.
