Does Ipod 40G have built-in FM radio?

Hi, I am considering buying a MP3 player with "built-in" FM radio, not as an add-on accessory. According to some sources the Ipod 40G has a "built-in" FM receiver but not the 20G or 15G ipods. But somehow i can't find that info ANYWHERE, searching the internet for the last 30 mins. Can anyone who owns an Ipod 40G (the 3rd generation) tell me??

Just to avoid confusion, the iTrip is an FM Transmitter not an FM Receiver.

It doesn't have it, and I don't think they should build it into the iPod, it doesn't seem necessary to me.

Imagine if they made ID3 tags radio transmitable then you could see what song is playing on the radio. The iPod interface would be very cool with a radio.

Right! Even if an ipod has an fm tuner, I don't think I would ever use it! Why would you listen to a radio show if you have all the music you love at your disposal?! If you want a radio, get an fm tuner. They come in the size of a coin nowadays.

I would: for sports.

There are lots of time during baseball/football seasons when my girlfriend has control of the tv, or I'm not near a tv, and I can't stand the tv broadcasters.

Sounds like RDS:

RDS - Radio Data System
This technology allows stations to transmit additional types of information via encoded digital signals that can be received and displayed by the user's Radio. For instance: an RDS-capable Radio can display the title and artist or current song playing, local traffic information, an advertiser's phone number while a commercial is playing, etc.

My kenwood car deck has the RDS but no stations in my area use it. I wish they did.
