Can I fix my iPod without a computer. Help Please.

Hello there,

First of all sorry, I haven't done a search for my problem as I'm in a very s...l...o...w... internet cafe in Thailand.
I was listening to my ipod (3G 20Gb) on the beach yesterday and it locked up in the middle of a song. I could browse the menus (slowly) but could play anything. I did a forced reset thing and it comes up with the apple logo and then a picture of a file with an exclamation mark by it. I tried running the disk checker thing and I get a sad ipod picture.
The thing is I'm travelling around the world at the moment and therefore not near my PC. It there any way I can fix it? Lying on the beach getting sunburnt is no fun without music.

Thanks in advance.

hi manduck

Could it be because of the heat, that your iPod is "down".
You said that you were on the beach with your iPod, maybe the heat has done somthing to your harddrive ;(

Yeah I thought that myself. I was in the shade but it was still very hot and I thought the metal back bit of the ipod felt quite hot as well.
If it was that shall I just post it back home and get my Dad to take it back to the shop. I got it for Christmas so it's still under guarantee.
