Absolutely not! I take mine snowboarding and it lasts all day (6-7 hours of fairly constant playing) If you charge it fully before you go you shouldn't have any problems. If you are constantly changing songs, navigating arround the menu's, playing games, leaving the backlight on etc this will shorten your battery time. Otherwise just let it play and enjoy.
