Flickering line in middle of screen

Something weird happaned to my iPod today. When I turned it on, it boot up with the apple sign and stuff, and had a black flickering line through the screen. I was mad at first, cuz I though it would never go away. I reset the iPod, and the black line started to fade away to more of a gray line. Finally, after restarting my iPod several times, it finally went away. Has anyone experienced this before? Does it mean anything bad?
Anyway, im just glad that it wasn't permanent.

Glad to here its gone. But if you have a warranty or other coverage, you may want to replace it the instant it comes back [which it hopefully won't].MikeM at 2007-11-15 14:08:00 >

I went into my home office and noticed that the ipod (plugged in) was blank. It didn't show the typical 'charged' icon. I had to reset it. It then had a thick line through the middle of the screen and the screen seemed to be 'rolling' quickly from bottom to top like a slot machine. I reset it again and the flickering lasted for about 5 minutes. It seems to be normal after about 10 minutes and a few resets.I have to say, I think it is a piece of junk. It's on it's second set of earphones and a remote. the battery life is awful and it resets by itself all the time. For a 20 Gig 3 G mp3 player, this was expensive.
It is 22 days old, maybe it is just worn out.

My iPod exhibited the flickering line once. It was after it had been idle for a couple days (i.e. it had to boot up with the apple logo). After a few minutes the line went away and I haven't seen it again.After it happened I seached for posts related to this issue and found several that seemed to indicate it is firmware related. There were several other posts that indicated others had experienced the same issue.
I seached again and can't find the posts now. Perhaps they were lost with the recent problems with these forums.

I had the flickering line across my screen today for the first time. It had been unused in the charger for about 36 hours. The line went away after a bit, but I will contact Apple tech support if it appears again. It doesn't seem normal.middnite at 2007-11-15 14:12:05 >
