Mini IPOD LCD/LED looks grainy

I have both a 15g 3G and the mini. When the backlight is on in the 15g, the background and colors look uniform and clear.
When the backlight is on in the mini I can see the grid lines that make up the LCD. I have a silver mini. Anyone else notice this?

Have you tried adjusting the contrast?

it's called cost-cutting.

I think the screen on the mini is much more clear and readable - albiet smaller.

Looks fine to me. Try changing the contrast, and if that doesn't work, talk to people at the Apple Store (if you have one nearby).

more clear and readable than the iPod, maybe, but compared to everybody else's players (like the one steve jobs made fun of at MWSF) it's an el cheapo screen if you ask me...
