Help with organizing songs in a playlist

How do I arrange songs so that they play in the order that I want them to play in a playlist? It seems that they always play in alphabetical order.
Thanks

While viewing the Playlist in iTunes, click on any of the column headers ("Song Name", "Artist", "Album", etc.) to change the sort order.

In addition, if it's a regular Playlist (and not a Smart Playlist), I think you can drag-and-drop the songs in the Playlist window to manually place them in any order you desire. I'm not 100% certain of this, and I don't have iTunes here on my work PC to test it out...but I'd try it and see if it works for you.

When you create a playlist, the songs should play in the order they appear in the playlist, unless you have turned on song shuffle. You should be able to order the playlist play order any way you want. Simply drag the songs up or down to get the desired order.

Of course, when you click on the various iTunes column headings the list will be sorted accordingly (either ascending or decending).

As far as I know it is not possible to manually order the tracks within the master library. They will always be sorted based on one of the columns.
