buying ipod overseas

Hi all!

with the dollar being so high against the pound at the moment i was wondering if it would be worth getting my mate who lives in the US to grab a new ipod for me. it works out about a third cheaper than buying in the UK.

has anyone done this? does it work ok? do all the accessories work ok?

any tips would be gratefully received!

Cheers

:D

Yeah, I can help you with this.

Your iPod will work fine in the UK. There are a few things to consider though.

Firstly, if your PC has FireWire, then you can just charge it through your FireWire port, as they're powered.

If not, then you'll have to buy either a socket adapter (cheap, anywhere between ?2 and ?5 depending on where you go) or you'll have to buy a Telefunken plug, also known as a figure 8 plug. These are pretty common, they're the ones that plug into stereo's, Playstations etc.

Whatever you choose though, you won't have any problems with getting one from the States, I say go for it.
