Battery problem
When I got my iPod on Thursday, I right away charged it and let it charge for about 6 hours. The indicator said it was fully charged so I unplugged it.
I used it for about two and a half hours and the battery is empty.
Thinking it was because it was new and needed conditioning, I let it run down completely and charged it again Friday. I let it charge for another 5.5 hours and played it. Again, it only lasted for another 2.5 hours.
It's not cold here (I'm in Cali) so that isn't it and I don't have the backlight on at all because I heard that can run down the battery as well.
I guess I have to email Apple.

Hi...
just returned my first mini...
during the testing over the weekend, the best time I could get out of the mini's battery was about 5.5 hours...at worst, 3 hrs.
5.5 was just sitting on my desk, no backlight, no button pushing, just playing the entire contents...
3hrs was with 2 sec backlight, shuffle, and forwarding throught a playlist...
so, I returned the unit...
now have a second mini on my desk, charging...
we'll see how this one fares...

I got a silver and pink one for my girlfriend. We both tested them just playing music, lying down on the table.
my silver one lasted 6 hours, the pink one lasted roughly 6hours 30 minutes, and yes I was bored and had nothing else to do but try this haha.

Update:
Silver Mini Ipod was charged overnight, turned on @ 8am, it's now 4:05pm, and it's still running!
so we'll see how much longer it lasts...but I'm happy this one is giving it's advertised 8hr run time...
I guess I got one with a bum battery before...
:D
