Is there a way to completely remove the Album feature from the iPod

I don't need the album lists and the extra screens associated with trying to select songs by genre and what not.
is there a way to completely remove the album 'features' from the iPod ?

no i think what he they want to do is remove the "album" item in the browse list, much like you can do in the main menu (remove items)

I don't think you can remove that, you'll just have to ignore it. Maybe you could rearrange the menu and move it to the bottom, not sure about that either though.

Use iTunes, select all of your songs (ctrl-A), get info (ctrl-I), click OK if necessary, then click the checkmark next to the blank album name field. Click "OK" then all of your album names will be reset to nothing. Then you don't have to deal with album lists at all.

Why anyone would want to do this is beyond me. Are all of your songs from KazAa?

because im not a sheeple like yourself... im not transfering my cd collection bought at wal-mart and target to my ipod.

its 90% ripped Vinyl... far from Kazaa, i've paid $10 per song!

Wow... 8 replies and hardly a solid answer.

If you have a 3rd-generation iPod (Firmware 2.0+), you can remove the "Album" menu item from the main menu:

Main Menu-->Settings-->Main Menu-->"Album...........OFF"

I've done that but the Album 'menu' is still showing up when picking Genre from the main menu.... I don't use playlists, i just select Genre and start from the top (setting is on randomize)... but after choosing genre there's an extra screen to click past for selecting albums... I don't want that.

thanks though
