iPod problem with the lock tab

My iPod will not respond, and It is because of the lock feature. If I connect it to a power source, it turns on, but I can see the lock symbol and it locks all of the buttons. What can I do to unlock it? The lock tab on the top is not making it work, and it won't reset because the buttons don't respond. What can I do?

ok, i had the same problem and i was lucky enough to get it replaced. There is no way that i know of to get it fixed. Try contacting whoever you bought it from. good luck!armless at 2007-11-15 14:08:14 >

Hi, this seems to be happening a lot with a few new units.Try one of these remedies:
a) try to unlock ipod by plugging in remote and playing around with controls (play, lock, unlock) it should unlock ipod
b) press hold switch DOWN HARD while switching the hold switch in the other direction
c) let battery drain and then replug into computer
b worked for me quite well!
