Strange Smart Playlist problem.
This just started to happen a few days ago. I created a smart playlist in iTunes. It worked fine, just like normal. Then I synced my iPod, but when I go to the same playlist on the iPod there are no songs in it. I created another different smart playlist, and it did the same thing. Can someone please offer some advice?

Are you using the Date Added criteria? Date Added in iTunes means the Date Added to iTunes, while on the iPod it means the Date Added to the iPod.
If you've had stuff in iTunes for a while without adding to the iPod or had stuff on the iPod but not in iTunes or recently started with a clean iTunes database, you could be having some issues with Dates Added not matching up.
Or are you unchecking songs as part of your management? If the smart list contains only unchecked songs, they won't get moved to the iPod.

No, I don't use the Date Added criteria or any other filters that go by time or date. I unchecked a few songs the other day and then I rechecked them. So all of my songs are checked. I only filtered the playlist by genre and grouping. The contents of my iPod are the same as my hard drive.

Grouping is not supported on the iPod just yet.
Also, MikeM, I've found that with the new 4.2 update of iTunes, the old date added problem is fixed! It works well now.
Cheers,

No problem Mike, it was a happy find indeed. The bad thing is that if you have files that haven't needed to be updated recently they will still have that old date added, a restore fixed all of my dates.
Happy to have working Recently added lists on my iPod I can tell you!
