I think I found the cure for the lint magnet iSKIN!
I got my iSKIN today (arctic) I been reading in the other post about how the iSkin is a dust,hair,lint magnet especially the colors one! so I said to my self I'm glad I order the arctic one.
boy was i wrong! you may not see the dust. but I had red sweater today and when I got home I notice the iskin was full of RED lint.
so this is what I did.
1) take mini out and belt clip off.
2) wash in and out with soap and warm water. (use a sponge)
3) let it dry. and put everything together.
after I did that I rub the iSkin with the same sweater no lint nada...
maybe this not the cure for the problem but in my case it was :D anyway it wont hurt for you guys to try it.

great tip!
with the material used in the iskin, you would expect it to get tacky again after a day or two, but washing it again doesnt sound like too big a hassel.
reminds me of that toy octopus you'd buy at the toy store. you'd throw it against a window and it would stick and "crawl" down. after a few uses it got so dirty it wouldnt stick, so you'd wash it and it would work like new.

Well I will let you guys know in a few day. if it stay lint free.
p.s now it doesn't feel tacky.

i ordered my Iskin on 4/20/04 and should have it on 4/27/04.
i dont want to take the chance of scratching my mini just cause i waited to get a case

I'm going to play "devil's advocate" here, but don't you think that is a little high maintenance for a case? Once you put it on, don't you want to leave it on instead of taking the mini out of the case to wash the case? Please respond.

well I didn't said you have to wash it all the time. just when you first get the case. because the case is way too tacky!
by the way my case is lint free since friday.
p.s on my first post I stated that maybe this was not the cure but in my case it work. (and no I don't have to wash it weekly....)

Just gave my iSkin mini a bath as well. Will wait a few days to see what happens.

i let my sister listen to my ipod for a while and when i got it back, i found hair and lint still being attracted to it :( guess i need to give it another bath soon
btw, what soap did you use?

update! dietrite I forgot to mention that after the bath I did get just a little lint.
so this is what i did (call me crazy but if you try it you not going to have any lint on your iskin)
go to the hardware store and pick up a sheet of "600 wgt." sand paper (the very fine one) do the same thing you did before.but first take a small piece of wet sand paper and sand it down. then wash it with soap let it dry.
try it and let me know how it turn out!

My Iskin mini arrived unsticky and lint free
have used it for 4 days and still no lint or stickieness

That's good man!! you didn't have to go thru "sanding and washing" lol. BTW What color mini and iskin you got?
