Disable USB 2.0 charging?

Is there way to disable USB 2.0 charging? Everytime i want to add a couple of songs, i connect the mini to the USB port and it starts to charge, but that's not so good for the battery. If i want to charge i use the adaptor + firewire.

it doesnt matter how many times you charge the battery.when they say lithiums can only have x amount of charges - they mean full drain and charging again.

yeh, I think it is.
you shouldn't worry to much about the battery, there really aren't many things you can do to extend the battery life from what it would normally be.

With lithium-ions, yes. I believe maximum life will be obtained if you charge at approximately 80% full in fact. Fully discharging a li-ion will significantly lower it's useful lifeWhich is completely unlike Ni-Cd and Ni-MH chemistries which ideally SHOULD be fully discharged!
