confusion
Hi, right straight to the point.
Is the iPod mini a hard drive or a CF drive. I may be wrong but I thought that a hard drive had moving parts whereas a CF card did not. If it is a hard drive it would skip when exercising etc. If it is a CF card it would have no moving parts and never skip. Could someone please clarify this?

ipod mini will skip. It is a small hard drive with moving parts. However, it's small size makes it more resistant to skips and damage. Even still, it is not as durable as CF card's.

There are different types of Compact Flash, one is memory base (or flash base), one is hard drive base (or microdrive), and one are expansion devices for Pocket PCs like Compact Flash GPS, CF WiFi, CF Bluetooth, CF (tag) scanner, etc.
