taking the mini in and out of the case

whats the best way to take it out?

Remove the mini from one side. Don't slide it.

You're talking about the belt clip right? Yeah, you snap in in and out...on one side. But like kckool said, don't slide it.

And no, it won't scratch...or shouldn't. The finish on the mini is pretty scratch resistant.

the reason for not sliding it is the small rubber button on the inside of the case will eventually wear off from sliding. the ipod itself will not scratch.

ive managed to scratch mine already but probably just cause im stupid, i dont treat my stuff very well.

the screen is intact though. just feeling it makes me think that its almost impossible to scratch -- it feels very hard.

I would suggest installing a PDA screen protector on your Mini's screen if you want to keep it scratch-free. If the Mini screen is anything like the iPod's screen, it scratches very easily.
