Speed test

I would be interested to see a speed transfer test between the iPod and the iPod mini. I'm curious if the 4GB compact flash is faster then the laptop HD. Try to write and copy a CD image to both and see who finishes first.

The mini does not use compact flash. It is hard drive based.

oh well. it would still be interesting to see which one is faster even though it doesn't matter for basic listening.

The mini's harddrive is slower.

iPodlounge's official iPod mini in-depth review places the iPod mini's transfer rate at approximately 2.5MB per second... significantly slower than the full-size iPod.
