The Amazing SCRATCH RESISTANT iPod mini!

Like many of you, I brought my iPod mini (silver) home last Friday evening. Since then, I've had it with me practically non-stop, save the time that I've had to charge it.

Well on Saturday, I did a really stupid thing. I was leaving my bedroom, and grabbed for the doorknob with the same hand where my mini was palmed. This is the type of door with a "privacy" lock that you turn either to the horizontal position or vertical position to lock or unlock.

Right as I turned the knob, I felt the horrible sensation of metal scraping on metal! I looked at the back of my mini, and saw a dark black 1/2" long line right near the Apple logo

I was really bummed out! Less than 24 hours, and I had already messed up my iPod mini! I tried rubbing the scratch with my thumb, but the scratch really seemed to be permenant. After a while, I conceded, and put the mini back into my jeans pocket. I thought about it for a while, and even considered getting a silver Sharpie to fix the prolem.

The next day, I was holding the mini again, and flipped it over to examine the scratch.

IT WAS GONE!!!

Was I dreaming?!? Did I only imagine scratching it? I was so happy that I actually danced a little jig! Appearently, the action of the cloth inside my pocket rubbing against the mini was enough to "buff out" the scratch!

AMAZING! These annodized cases can sure take a bit a damage! :D

I am now more in love with my mini than ever, and know that it will remain looking great for ages to come!

awesome! I can't afford a mini but I'm so paranoid about my iPod, where scratches aren't as forgiving :)

I wouldn't be surprised to see both the aluminum and the scroll wheel from the mini on the next iPod.

Does anyone make annodized aluminum cases for current iPods? :D

You guys are odd. A few scratches are not that big of a deal. You act like getting a scratch on the I-pod actually physically affects its music playback abilities.

Or maybe I'm just weird for actually using a device that I paid 500 dollars for, rather than just pampering it.
