So is the mini going to be big?
I now own the mini, and I'm really happy with it. Actually 10/10 satisfied with it.
I am no soothsayer, but I soothsay anyway: the mini is going to be a BIG hit with all demographics, but especially with the target groups as planned by Apple--geeks, girls, teens, commuters who live by subway/bus, and athletes.
Having now seen one, I don't see how this won't be a raging success. It's no cube from a few years back. I'm pretty certain that it'll be commonplace for people to own two ipods within 2 years: the mini and the regular sized ipod.
I don't know why other companies don't get it yet, but it seems clear that solid design will lead solid profits. The Nitrus' casing doesn't inspire confidence, and neither does creative's muvo. Build it and they will come.
This sounds self-centered, but: I love this thing so much that I don't see how anyone else wouldn't love it, too. :>

Yeah...even with all the people saying it wouldn't sell, that it was too much...it's selling like hotcakes! I've heard most of the Apple stores are sold out, and even Apple's site says 1-3 weeks before they start shipping again! I think Apple has a homerun with the mini!

well, I'm a win/linux/x86 user who has said many a time that I'd never buy an over-priced Apple product, and I bought my iPod mini yesterday at Best Buy.

'You?ve already spent 20 hours of your life researching MP3 players and specifically the iPod; don't be such a cheapskate you SOB and buy the d#mn thing!'
Yes, I agree, the mini will be a grand-slam homerun for Apple.

long time windows user here, the mini is my first apple product and so far, I have had an amazing experience with it. Works with Windows seamlessly. Obviously Apple is making alot of $$ from iPod sales, more than their computers.
