Can the dock connector cover of the 3G iPod fit the mini?

I thought they were difference sizes though? That's why you needed a different dock for the gen3's and the minis?

Because its thinner and smaller width-wise than the iPod?

The mini fits the InMotion Speakers

The dock connector on the mini is centered in all directions. If you look at the regular iPod the connector is not centered from front to back. Because of this off center condition the mini's case catches on the dock when you insert it. It kinda fits but not very well. I tried to insert my mini onto a regular iPod dock and it didn't fit.

I fit my MiniPod into the 3G dock with no problems. It charged it like a charm...

'cause the base of the mini wouldn't fit in the slot of the iPod dock.
