Where did you mount your iPod?
I'm trying to get a feel for where I want the mount my iPod on my dash. I'm going to get an ICElink and I'm looking for input on positioning.
Where did you mount yours and why?
I drive a '98 Camry, and I have a couple of different options from various clip manufacturers, I could clip to the vents at the top of the center console, I could clip to the right side of the shifter (way too far out of the way, in my opinion), and I can come off the right side of the climate controls, which are just below the head unit. Those are the options I've found, and I'm torn.
So, back to my previous question, where did you mount your ipod and why?

I put mine in my center console because I wanted to be able to "hide" it when not in use. I also prefer the clean look of the interior without mounting brackets and wires. However, the one drawback is that visibility (of the iPod) is not great. Fortunately, I use smart playlists and rarely have to look at the screen. The only thing I do sometimes is forward a track, but that's not hard to do at all without looking down.

It's really hard to make a recommendation when I don't drive the same car...
I put mine in a TuneDock in one of the cupholder spots in the center console of my '02 Civic Si hatch.
I hardly use it for drinks anyway, so that's no big loss. I can also take it out of the cupholder, push the cupholder assembly back, drop the TuneDock, auto adapter, and even the iPod itself into the now-open compartment, and slide the cover over everything to hide it all.
I think that it's tacky to have devices stuck all over the dashboard, but that's just me.
