2004 Ford Expedition

I just got a 2004 Ford Expedition and am wanting to hardwire my ipod asap. I plan on using the dock and going the line-out route (used the itrip in my previous car... doesnt quite cut it for me). Just a few questions:

1. How do i find out the options for my headunit? (I have the in-dash 6 cd changer and the rear seat dvd).

2. What products are currently on the market, and what is the best in everyone's opinion.

Anyways, and help would be greatly appreciated!

I believe you have the same setup as my Mountaineer. You should have some AUX jacks under the screen for your DVD. Those may have to be disconnected if you want to wire behind the dash. I just ran a cable up to those, so I could plugin the Atari or PS2 when I wanted.

Keep in mind its not possible with that HU to watch a DVD & use the AUX jacks at the same time, so keep some CD's around if you have rear passengers.

I couldn't find a place to comfortably mount the dock on my admittedly smaller console. You might want to consider the SIK imp car cable instead, with some type of cel phone/PDA mount.

Setup I have
Arkon goosneck mount
Belkin car kit
Ground loop isolator

Is there any way for me to split the AUX? Or can I switch to just use the AUX for my ipod and make the plugs on the DVD player removable? And if so can it be split from the hu and not from the dvd? I would like to avoid running a cable that far if i can...

Again, any help or input is appreciated!

Phog...I just PM'd you. I have a 2005 Expedition with the same issues.

I have yet to see an adapter that works with Ford in dash changers unless its a mach radio out of a mustang. One thing you can do is buy a single disk deck off Ebay and swap it or you can go aftermarket.
