monster iCharger hisses!
I just got a monster icharger with dock connection (i have a 3g ipod).
when the charger is plugged into the ipod along with the aux in cable for my stereo an annoying hiss occurs whilst playing songs through my car's stereo.
when i disconnect the monster icharger, the hissing stops!
im assuming some kind of electronic interference as the noise that is created is akin to the sort you get when you cross cables.
but is there any way i can get round this!?!
cheers guys.

i've got the exact same problem. Either both of us got ichargers from the same screwed up batch, or that's just how all of them are. mine only hisses for a few secs when a new song starts, and then goes away. it would make sense that it's an interference problem with the spinning hard drive of the ipod, since it only hisses when a song is first starting up. the solution to any interference problem is distance and insulation. Unfortunately i don't see how either of those could be improved with our sitation, but a problem i'm sure monster will address with their 4g ichargers.

hmmm, interesting. it seems strange though that such an obvious problem could slip though... especially with the aux line in and the power supply so close in proximity.
and yeah, electrical noise like that seems logical to me too... but im not sure whether its cause by hdd oscillations... my suspicion is that it is solely to do with interaction between the line in and the power supply, as when i plug my line in into the ipod headphone socket but leave off the charger all is ok!
perhaps someone with a deeper understanding of electrical physics can help us!? hehe.

Yeah, Monster icharger is a piece of spam.
I have the same terrible hissing when I have the cigarette charger plugged in. For me though, it doesn't seem to go away after the disk stops spinning. I have the feedback for the whole time.
When the cigarette lighter end is not plugged in it sounds fantastic.
Luckily, I guess, I only need to charge for about an hour to get 6 hours listening.
Has anyone investigated the return policy with this problem?

it's probably a ground loop problem because the radio and cigarette lighters are grounded in different places. go to radio shack and get a ground loop isolator

cheers for the help guys but im not sure that'll help with me... my stereo has no rca connectors anywhere in the system, and nor does my ipod :S

Get 2 gold mini plug to rca cables, then you can mount them on either side of the GLI, or get plug which is 2rca to mini.
Problem solved.
