ipod holder in car?

hi all,

i'm setting the ipod up in my car. I have Ipod Armor as my case, but I want to use the Monster charger for the true line out feature and I don't believe the Monster's dock connector will fit in the hole on the bottom of my armor.

SO, I will need to remove Ipod from its Armor when in the car using the Monster charger.

Therefore, I was wondering what suggestions people can give me for an Ipod holder in the car. (not a case, but a holder) Something nice that will hold it in place and not scratch. ;)

Please state your brand and where you got it if possible and how you like it.

I've read about a few on the threads, but I want to ask around.

thanks!

It may not be very easy to fit the dock in any car... I have seen few "hidden" type of installs using the dock, but this requires having dedicated little storage spaces in your car, which I did not have that much - it's a MINI Cooper S :)
It's too bad that you will have to remove your case to be able to use the Monster iCharger. Since I dont use a case -and dont know much about them-, is there a way to "modify" the opening for the dock connector to make it little wider?
As for the holders:
Proclip USA holders are nice if you dont mind spending $35 for the holder itself and more for the mount.
In my other posts, I have mentioned PanaVise, which is currently installed in my car. It works great, but requires removal of your dashboard parts.
Most simplistic way is Belkin TuneDok, but it occupies a cupholder.
There are also goosneck type holders -again, there are links in the posts of this forum.
It all comes down to what you really like the most I guess :)
Good luck!

volki

thanks for your continued input. looks like we are participating in several posts.

The Armor case is aluminum so there is really no way to widen the gap. The dock connector on the Apple firewire cord fits in the gap just fine. I think Belkin would fit as well, but I understand Belkin charger does not have true line out.

Monster and Sik seem to have true line out. And, by looking at the pics, the Sik dock connector looks to be the same size as the one on Apple's firewire cord.
have you heard good things about sik?

I just bought the SiK imp because it would work with my exo case. The dock connector is the same exact size as the apple one so it fits perfectly. I have only used it for about a week but so far it works great.
