Does anyone know when the new Dension Icelink will be available (with the new dock as seen at MWSF2004?)

I'm trying to find this out as well. I want the icelink but i'm sick of using the tape adapter so i'm thinking about another option since they are taking so long.

I am waiting on the new version as well. I am about ready to give up and make my own install.. i can live without iPod control via the headunit controls. I emailed Denison several weeks ago about this and recieved no reply.

I got a reply last week. They claim to be six weeks out from having them in stock. Fingers crossed!

I must have missed this. What are you guys referring to? Is Denison coming out with a new product?
# 7 Re: Dension Icelink new version?
Yes, debuted and shown at the most recent mac trade show (i think macworld) Denison showed a dock connector based icelink and a cradle which the 3g ipods just slide right into.

Cool. Any other pictures or information about this besides the link provided above? like does it charge the ipod? what about line out capabilities?
# 9 Re: Dension Icelink new version?
it charges and turns off the ipod when you shut off the car. It also uses the line level out from the dock connector so upping the volume on the face of the ipod would have no effect on the sound, and thus it is unamplified (or barely).

As far as I know it also allows you to control the ipod, play/pause, ff, rw.

Looks like it is now available!!!

I ordered the new version of IceLink last night. I've been waiting for this to be released. I use iTrip now with my 2003 Honda Accord, and it is horrible. And what a pain on trips to have to find new stations. I'm hoping to mount the IceLink under the radio INSIDE the front storage bin, so that it can be viewable when I want to see it, but hidden when I'm away from my car.

I also ordered v1.1 of IceLink yesterday after having used an iTrip for some time now. I was told it would ship today or tomorrow, so I'm crossing my fingers for a delivery before the weekend.

Ack! Looks like they're backordered again (for my car). I saw it was available a couple of days ago for my car and should have ordered it then, but I was flip-flopping between them and PAC.

Which is a good thing, since every time an amplifier is added to the signal chain, more noise is introduced.

So, it'll play, ff, rw, stop and turn off the iPod through your HU, which is great. But will it also allow you choose playlists or play specific albums?

Nope, it's not that cool.
Alpine's "iPod Ready" interface, coming out sometime this summer, will be able to do that. You'd use certain Alpine head units and a controller box for the iPod to plug into, and it's based on their AiNet data bus. I think I heard that Pioneer will be making a similar system, too.
