Does anyone know when the new Dension Icelink will be available (with the new dock as seen at MWSF2004?)

Yes, debuted and shown at the most recent mac trade show (i think macworld) Denison showed a dock connector based icelink and a cradle which the 3g ipods just slide right into.bruck at 2007-11-15 16:04:14 >

it charges and turns off the ipod when you shut off the car. It also uses the line level out from the dock connector so upping the volume on the face of the ipod would have no effect on the sound, and thus it is unamplified (or barely).bruck at 2007-11-15 16:06:16 >

I ordered the new version of IceLink last night. I've been waiting for this to be released. I use iTrip now with my 2003 Honda Accord, and it is horrible. And what a pain on trips to have to find new stations. I'm hoping to mount the IceLink under the radio INSIDE the front storage bin, so that it can be viewable when I want to see it, but hidden when I'm away from my car.Dave

I also ordered v1.1 of IceLink yesterday after having used an iTrip for some time now. I was told it would ship today or tomorrow, so I'm crossing my fingers for a delivery before the weekend.Pieter

Which is a good thing, since every time an amplifier is added to the signal chain, more noise is introduced.

Nope, it's not that cool.
Alpine's "iPod Ready" interface, coming out sometime this summer, will be able to do that. You'd use certain Alpine head units and a controller box for the iPod to plug into, and it's based on their AiNet data bus. I think I heard that Pioneer will be making a similar system, too.
