before you say, "but the ipod already has one!" i should fully explain what i mean.

here goes...

not only does the backlight drain the ipod when its used all the time, but during daylight it makes it really hard to see the screen with it on.

i find that during the day i have to have the backlight off and then when i go out when it dark i have to turn the backlight on. sometimes in pitch black where i cant see anything at all on the ipod screen.

i think that the backlight feature would be a lot more better if you could set it so that from say 6pm to 8am (or whatever time it is when its dark where you are) the backlight is on and from 8am to 6pm the backlight could be turned off. this could be done automatically with the ipod seeing as it keeps the time and has an alarm feature.
