Shure E2C safe volume levels?

I think the shure e2c's sound very much better at higher volumes. But am worried about damaging my hearing. What is a safe level of volume of listening to them on my ipod? I generally have them at about 70-80% is this too loud? Thanks a lot

Hmmm, having just cranked my E2's up to ?80% I would say if you listen at that volume for long periods you could be causing damage. Not wishing to teach you to "suck eggs" have you put them in correctly? If the seal isn't right then you may well have to crank the volume right up to get a decent sound. I usually run my E2's at 50-60% volume and thats normally loud enough for me.
