Senn MX500 screwed -beware

Right had my MX500's for about 6 months now, ill start by saying i have a G3 20gb using Volumeboost 1.3 at 45 setting. I also have my mp3's normalised to 91db using MP3gain.

Ok so i was listening to my pod, and all of a sudden the left bud starts to rattle, almost like theres something loose inside shaking around. Not to chuffed about it to be honest with you, i havent ever 'mis-treated' them and prior to hiking the volumes up, i 'ran' them in for around 12 hours continuously, and was cautious for the first week or so to let them loosen fully.

However, this just takes the p#ss, i started listening to some Eminem-Monkey C monkey do this morning and the sound was atrocious, so i took it out and wacked it several times against a table in an attempt to 'fix' it and to ease my frustrations.

Its been on since, but i didnt expect somene one Sennheisers reputations for design and quality to 'blow' after 6 months, im assuming that its blown (maybe wrongly) or perhaps something like the cone has come loose.

Either way im not a happy camper, good job i only paid ?17 for them from veronica's

:( :( :( :( :( :(

I've seen here that if you (honest here) put the bud in your mouth and suck on it it will remove the rattling sound. Usually it's because of a loose mechanism or whatever.

Alright mate, cheers for that.

Im thinking about using my problem as an excuse to justify the cost of buying some Shure E2C. They seem ok atm though so gonna give them another chance, ill be sure to make use of that 'tip' should it happen again before i stamp on them :)
