Ok, so it may be a big work around, but here goes. This is going to cost you around $100. First, you need an iTrip. Second, you need to pick up a pair of these. (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?cookie%5Ftest=1&catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=12-932)

Or you could wait until June and for around ?55 in the UK or probabley $100 US, you can get a bluetooth remote which you can plug a set of headphones into so you get better sound quality, a remote and all wireless. Its called the Naviplay, a BlueTooth transmitter and receiver. The transmitter, which sounds like it fits into the iPod's dock also transmits audio to the receiver where you can plug in a pair of headphones. Might not be right for everyone as it only works up to 8 metres - I say only but that's great for most people I should think. Heheheh. I was thinking the same thing
I suppose the only advantage is if you're doing some physical activity that might (a) cause skipping or (b) place the iPod in harms way. Rather break a ?50 gadget than a ?400 gadget, I guess.
Still, the iPod was meant to be portable without any outside aid.

i dont understand why everyone is so keen on FMing their quality iPod audio. Do you guys rip your music down to to 64bit , or do you just not care about the sound quality?On a side note, you can pick up or build your own BT phones and a transmitter for rather cheap if you look hard enough.
