Apple standard headphones or In-Ear-Headphones?

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. My original earphones died, so I need to buy a new pair. Wich is best (in sound quality)? The standard headphones or the In-ear-headphones? I'm talking about Apple's ones. I live in Argentina and have no chances to buy a better one (Shure, etc.).

I just bought the in-ear phones this weekend,a nd so far, I'm not "loving" them. they are OK, but i'm not sure.
They sound very "tinney" (lots of high end) and I have all of my EQ's turned off.
I wonder if maybe my allergies have effected my mid to low- range hearing in the last few weeks. I'll keep 'em and give them another listen when my head isn't as stuffed up.

I did try the "small" one's earlier today and thought they sounded better that way. I'm just not used to the way they fit.It just feels so wrong... shoving something I paid 40 bucks for that deep in my ear!
My Aunt Alice would shame me if she knew I was putting something other than my Knee or my Elbow in my ear!
