senn px 100 v. sure e2c v. sony ex71

Hey,
Does anyone have any advice on which may be better: px 100 sens, sure e2c or sony ex71s. confused: I keep hearing px 100s are good but leak in sound. Sures are good but are way to close your head to it makes it sound like somebody is pounding the music in your head. And the 71s are comfortable but give relatively crappy sound. Im willing to pay about 100 max so if you know anything that can be used for active use (not sitting indoors) it would be great. Also does anyone know if you get that stethescope effect with the sure e2cs and if so how bad is it? I keep hearing the 71s give a really bad effect that way and i was planning to use these things for walking around so it might not be the greatest if i hear every step i make. Any advice/suggestions would be great. Thanks alot for your help,
Scott:

i think you'll probably hear that the Shure e2's are the best out of the 3. these are total isolation earphones though, so they block out almost all other noise

Yes, the E-2s are the best of that bunch. Also consider the Sony E888.

Scott - I have two of the three you are considering, the Senn PX 100 and the Sony EX 71's. Obviously the biggest difference is canal's vs. regular headphones. Soundwise: I like the Senn PX 100's albeit outside sounds can be heard, not a bad thing if you plan on using these in environments where this may be safer or necessary. The advantage of the Sony's is a very small, light, discreet and fairly well closed canal earphone. I'd imagine the Shure E2's isolate better, my E3's do.

Another option is the PX 200's which are closed. I haven't used mine enough to give an opinion but they do not sound quite as bassy as the PX 100's.

You can get both the Sony's and Senn PX 100's for under $100. which gives you some versatility.

hey, thanks for the advice. Are the e3cs worth it? you could basically by the sens and the e2s for the same price. how are the 71s on sound quality though? even comparable to the e2s/3s or would you say for the price they are good? basically im looking for one i could use on a daily basis that would not be for quiet listining in a room, more like walking down the street or going around in an tuk tuk (im in india..). So do the px100s leak in too much sound and are they fairly tight?

I really like my ex 71s and i use them walking down the street and everything, but i feel like a right fool when someone says hi to me as i think i answer about 5 times a sloud as i should and they just give me a weird look, the other possibility was they didn't say hello to me at all. Another worry is that i will eventually get run over as i can't hear cars at all with them in. For ?25 they're really good value for money and i'm not really worried about them getting damaged, i find the sound quality on them good, not excellent, which you will probably find with the shures but good. They have a nice rich bass sound if you like that.

The EX51, 70 and 71 are horrid. Muddy and hissy, and you do get some 'cord noise'.

I get more of the "stethescope effect" from the E3's probably because they are much more isolated than the 71's. I think the E3's are definitely the best sounding for me but many miss the 'heavy base' that most canal phones don't produce. From my own research, the best bass offering comes by way of the Shure E5's. Pricey though.

I don't think you'd go wrong getting the Senn's and E2's.

You do get stethescope effect with the 71s but i found it wasn't as bad as other, i don't know others people's views on this but that's mine. It is a bit like putting your fingers in your ears and then talking, but i don't really talk when i listen to music so i don't get the effect. If you eat it can also feel like it's inside your head

Sounds like there good but do u get any of that stethescope effect with the 71s?
